The Swan Prince

Okay, so here is a pretty long one this time.

My inspiration was the story of Swan Lake. Actually I saw the Black Swan movie not too long ago, and that made me want to watch the old animated interpretation of the Swan Lake story (The Swan Princess), and I found it so disgustingly heterosexual that I had to make a yaoi version of it! xD

I also found Odette – the heroine of the story – really annoying because she was portrayed like a weak woman. You know; that kind of woman who’s stupid and can’t do anything without her hero. So I decided to switch the roles a little and made the uke to the hero, and the seme to the one who needed to be saved. I also made the villain to an uke. It turned out pretty funny and I just couldn’t wait to get the story finished!

My story is about a thief who encounters a prince turned to a swan during one night after he had been stealing from the dreadful but beautiful sorcerer Rothaar. He loves money, and is a greedy little fella’, and he comes up with a evil plan of how to get to the prince’s royal gold. At the same time he has to hide from the evil Rothaar who had kidnapped the prince and cast a the swan-spell on him.

The names of the characters were inspired from the original story. The main character in the real Swan Lake is named Odette, but my character is named Oda (It’s a pet name to Odette). And the prince in the real story is actually named Sigfried, but I didn’t like that name at all so I adopted the name to the prince from the animated version, and named him Derik.

The villain in the real story is named Rothbart. It’s actually a name made of German words for “red” (“rot”) and “beard” (“bart”), meaning “red beard”. But my uke-villain doesn’t have any beard, so I named him Rothaar instead, where “haar” means “hair” in the German language. And so I gave him red hair too to try to stick as close to the original story as possible.

Hope you enjoy it at least as much as I enjoyed writing it! xD

(Ignore the old hag in the background...)

It was nighttime in the dark and haunted forest. Only the wind could be heard and the quiet breaths of a blonde haired boy who was sneaking around a very old castle. The castle wasn’t so big, and it hadn’t been easy to sneak into it to steal the jewelry he now had in his backpack. He had dark clothes that only a thief would wear, and he had a small knife and some other useful tools in a pouch which hung on two small leather belts around his right thigh.

His clear blue eyes wandered over the castle grounds and wondered where he should make his escape. There was a huge lake next to the castle, and he also saw some kind of a rundown garden which seemed to be as old as the castle. He decided to sneak through the garden.

He had luckily a small body build which made his sneaking a lot easier; he didn’t have to worry about his steps being too heavy. He was light as a feather and had a very impressive skill in acrobatics.

Hehe! No wonder I can steal anything I want!, he thought with a priggish smile on his lips.

Oda was only seventeen years old, but he was greedier than the prince who ruled the country. But the prince had gone missing a few months ago though, and now the kingdom was handled by the royal court until they could find their beloved prince. But Oda didn’t care for the prince. He just cared about money, and he would do anything to get it. That’s why it had resulted in him choosing the profession of a thief. He was a damn good one too with the reputation of being the sneakiest brat in the whole kingdom.

He sneaked through bushes and behind trees. The moonlight was obscured by the clouds, which made it even darker. He had a little hard time seeing where he was going, but soon he came out to an opening. The ground was covered with old and cracked stone slabs, and the opening was surrounded by a low and rundown stonewall. He checked if he was visible from the castle, and he wasn’t. But for safety he stayed in the bushes.

“Haah! Finally a breather!” he sighed and sat down on the grass next to a tree to take a look at his booty. The clouds began dispersing and the moonlight showed through. “Ah, great timing!”

Suddenly he heard a small splashing sound, and he held his breath in surprise. Slowly and carefully he looked over the bushes, and there he saw a white swan bathing in the moonlit water. It had beautiful silver wings.

“A swan? Here?” Oda asked himself. He hadn’t seen a swan for a long time.

Suddenly it began glowing around the swan, and a beautiful sphere of water covered it. There were sparkles and golden light dazzling the surroundings, and then the water sphere collapsed and there stood the most handsome man Oda had ever seen in his entire life. The man was about 20 to 25 years old, and he had dark brown hair and very seductive eyes.

Oda had a secret which only a handful of people knew: He was a sucker when it came to handsome men.

“Oh my god…” he whispered and stared at the man who wore black high quality trousers and a white shirt and black leather boots. He looked like a prince from those fairytales about princesses being rescued by handsome princes. But this prince had an incredible sex appeal that it almost made Oda come just by looking at him. Oda was amazed by the transformation he had just witnessed, and he was almost as struck by lightning by the man’s good looks.

“Fucking moon! You were late tonight!” the man cursed at the moon. Even his angry voice was manly and seductive.

Suddenly Oda heard footsteps in the forest. They came closer, and he hid himself behind the trees in the shadows from the moonlight. He saw a young boy at his age coming closer to the lake where the man now sat down on the stairs that led down to the water, and sighed. The boy had a black mantle around his small body and he had beautiful red hair and silver colored eyes.

“Derik! I want your answer!” the boy yelled, and the man named Derik sighed even heavier like he was pissed off.

“Go back to the castle, little runt. You know what my answer is,” Derik said with a disinterested voice. He rested his chin in his left hand.

“You idiot! How dare you talk to me like that?! I’m…!”

The boy was interrupted by the man: “You’re the all mighty sorcerer Rothaar, the little punk who likes to piss me off every night, like he has a death wish or something. Yada yada…”

“Grrr! Watch your tongue, stupid prince! I may turn you into a frog instead of a swan!” the young boy named Rothaar growled, but he sounded more like an angry hamster.

Derik stood up from the steps and came closer to Rothaar and stared at him with his deep and seductive eyes. He stopped right in front of the other boy and took a hold of his chin with his strong fingers.

“And a kiss will turn me back to a prince?” he asked and leaned closer to the boy.

“Stop it! It’s enough!” Rothaar yelled and pulled himself free from the man’s grip.  “I’ll make you mine one day! And when I do I’ll be ruling your kingdom as a king!”

Derik began laughing like the bully he was, and Rothaar stomped his heel to the ground like a spoiled princess. Then he stomped away into the forest while muttering curses against Derik.

“Stupid brat,” Derik muttered and was about to go back to the water when Oda suddenly dropped the heavy jewelry on the ground and they made a noise.

“Damn it!” he hissed and was just about to pick them up and run when something grabbed him and pulled him out from the bushes. He stumbled backwards and hit the trunk of a huge old tree. The same moment he was about to see what had happened the man named Derik pinned his arms over his head against the tree with one hand.

“And who might you be?” Derik asked, and Oda stared at him. His knees was shaking, but he was unsure of if it was because his adrenaline was pumping through his body, or the fact that he had the most handsome man he’d ever seen right in front of him.

“Uh…” He didn’t know what to say.

Derik saw that Oda was holding something and he forced the boys hand open to take the object.

“A thief, huh? Did you steal these from that old castle?” he asked, and Oda nodded slightly. “Very clever of you to sneak into Rothaar’s castle. You know you could get yourself killed? He’s not merciful, you know.”

“Like you’re merciful either! Let me go! It hurts!” Oda complained, and Derik smiled that smile of a bully again.

“Oh, I’m sorry. Does it really hurt?” he asked innocently and squeezed tighter around Oda’s wrists. He leaned closer to Oda – so close that Oda could feel his breath on his nose and cheeks.

“Ugh! Let me go!”

Derik stared at him for a while but then let go of Oda’s wrists. Oda sighed in relief and massaged his hurting wrists while he watched the man sit down on the stairs next to the lake again to stare out at it.

“Go back home. This is no place for a young boy like you,” Derik said then with a bored voice, but Oda didn’t listen.

He took a few steps closer.

“I saw your transformation. What was that about?!” he asked demandingly, and Derik turned his face against him and looked him into his eyes.

“Forget about what you saw and get your sorry ass out of here.”

“That’s rude! You’ve got a pretty nasty personality.”

Derik sighed in irritation.

“Well, what do you expect when I’m trapped here and being harassed by a little runt who lives in that shitty little castle of his?” he said and rubbed his temples.

Oda went even closer.

“Does he come here every night?” he asked. “And why are you trapped here?”

“Every fucking night,” Derik noted. “He turned me into a stupid bird and now I’m stuck here. When the moon sets I turn into a swan, and when the moonlight hits this lake while I’m in it I turn back into my human self.”

“What?!”

Oda couldn’t believe what he heard. But he had seen the transformation with his own eyes, so he couldn’t deny the man’s story. It was incredible and unimaginable for a normal boy like Oda.

“So what does he want with you?” he asked, and Derik took a small stone and threw it into the lake.

“He wants my kingdom. He wants me to take him as my lover and then take over the kingdom,” Derik explained.

Suddenly something hit Oda. The prince was missing since a few months back, and Rothaar had called Derik a prince.

“You’re the missing prince!” he yelled, and Derik quickly took a hold of Oda and tugged hard at him so that Oda lost his balance and fell into the water. “Hey!”

“Shut up, or do you want Rothaar to come here and turn you into a duck or something?” he hissed angrily.

Oda gulped.

“Sorry.” He swam back to the stairs and climbed up to sit down next to Derik. “Isn’t there a way for you to escape?” he then asked.

“The spell he cast on me can be broken if I promise eternal love to my one and only true love. But who would find me here? And who would fall in love with a stupid bird? That sneaky little brat was smart when he thought about this plan,” Derik explained and rested his head in both of his hands. “And it’s boring to just sit here day and night with just that stupid brat as company. But he only comes here during the night when I’m in my human form though.”

“In other words, you have to fall in love with someone and promise your eternal love for that person. Only then you are free from the spell?” Derik nodded. Suddenly Oda got a plan.

He’s rich. He’s a fucking prince! He got tons of gold and is like the richest dude in the whole kingdom!

“Does the person have to love you back?” he asked innocently.

“No, not what I know of. But it would be nice though,” Derik sighed.

Oda smiled a big smile.

Jackpot!

“I have to excuse myself. I have to take these wet clothes off so I won’t catch a cold. Is it okay if I make a fire? Or does that attract that Rothaar’s attention?” he asked with a sneaky smile on his face.

“Do whatever the hell you want. Just keep your voice down. It’s not unusual of me to make a fir…” Derik interrupted himself when he realized something. “Hey! How long are you going to stay here?! Get the hell out of here!” he then yelled angrily, but when he turned around he saw Oda taking his shirt off.

Come on! I know you like what you see!, Oda thought smilingly while he had his back turned against the prince. He pulled his shirt off and shook the water out of his hair with an alluring motion, like those girls in the brothels did to seduce men. Those old pervs in the bars sure wants to go to bed with me as soon as I walk in through the door, and I don’t think you’re an exception. Come on now. Swallow the bait! … And it would be nice to have fun with him too...

His thoughts were running out of control. But he couldn’t help it. He was such a sucker for handsome men that it sometimes scared him. He continued to take off his shoes and trousers in a seductive manner, and when he finally was naked he turned around and saw Derik sit at a small fire with some fish on small sticks being cooked over the fire. He didn’t even look at Oda, and didn’t seem to be interested in him either.

Shit! Maybe it won’t be that easy with this guy as with the others?, he thought and sighed. Then he went to the fire and hung up his clothes on some branches at the old big tree, and sat then down next to the fire to warm himself up. The water had been cold even though it was in the middle of the summer.

“How did you catch the fish?” he asked, and Derik answered:

“I’ve been here for several months now. I had to learn how to catch fish because of that stupid cheapskate brat.”

“Uh-hu…”

While they were sitting there waiting for the fish to cook Oda lay face down on the grass and put his arms under his head to rest his chin on them as a pillow. He then curved his back a little to make his ass sexier, and then he closed his eyes and sighed in a fake relaxation.

Derik still didn’t react and it irritated Oda even more. After they ate some fish Oda fell backwards on his back and stared at the moon. It was beautiful, but he didn’t care for it. The only thing he had in his thoughts were of how to get Derik between his legs so he could seize him and make him fall in love with him.

Should I just jump him?, he thought, and was just about to sit up again and make a move when Derik suddenly pushed him back to the ground with his hands on Oda’s shoulders.

“Are you that desperate of getting fucked by me that you even whore yourself out with those lewd poses of yours?” he asked and leaned closer.

Oda smiled a little uncertainly.

“You saw right through me, huh?” he asked, and Derik chuckled.

“As clearly as if you were made of glass.”

“So what do you say, little swan prince?” Oda asked with a seductive smile on his lips.

“Shut up or I’ll rape the shit out of you,” Derik hissed, and Oda chuckled.

“Can’t wait for it.”

Oda pulled the prince closer with his legs around the prince’s waist, and then he put his arms around his neck. He lifted his head from the ground and gave Derik a heated kiss, and the prince kissed him back with such a force that Oda’s head hit the ground. It was as if Derik had been starving for sex a long time.

Woah! He’s a wild one!, Oda thought happily.

Derik pushed himself heavily on top of Oda and began taking his clothes off in a rush. He wasn’t collected at all. Oda helped him and got the shirt off him and threw it somewhere. Then he helped to unbuckle Derik’s belt and open his trousers.

“Hurry!” he begged with a lewd voice and pulled out Derik’s pulsing member out of its soft prison. “Enter me!”

“You really want to get raped?” Derik asked, and Oda kissed him deeply with his hands on the prince’s cheeks.

“I don’t mind,” he whispered. “I know you won’t hurt me anyway.”

Derik stroked saliva around Oda’s entrance. It tickled and Oda squirmed and moaned.

“You really think so?” he asked, and suddenly he rammed his rock hard member inside Oda’s body.

“Aagh! I take it back, you stupid brute! It hurts!” he cried when Derik had buried himself right to the hilt inside Oda.

“You asked for it.”

“I know, but still…! Aah!”

Derik began to move slowly. Oda tried to relax by kissing him and twirling his tongue around Derik’s. The prince answered by forcing his tongue inside Oda’s mouth and tickled the roof of his mouth. Oda shuddered and felt how he relaxed a bit and let out a small moan. He felt Derik inside him, how he forced Oda’s body to open every time he thrust inside him, and even though it hurt it also felt good. Oda wanted to cling to him and pulled him closer with his arms.

“Mmh! Mmn!”

Derik’s hand caressed Oda’s stomach with a tickling motion, and Oda reflexively pulled in his stomach a little and shuddered again. He knew where Derik’s hand was going, and he felt even more excited. Derik stroked his member and squeezed it at the right spots. It felt like Oda’s head was spinning. He wanted to go crazy, and he moaned louder.

“Ah! Make it harder,” he begged, and Derik didn’t hesitate. Derik let go of his member and raised himself up, took a hold of Oda’s legs and thrust harder. He quickened his tempo and made harder thrusts like he was trying to impale Oda with his member. “Aa-aah! Oh! Mmmh!”

Oda got tears in his eyes. It felt so good he didn’t know what to do. He wanted to touch himself, and when his hand reached his member he began jerking himself off.

“You’re really easy, aren’t you?” Derik asked between his gasps, and Oda nodded his head while his eyes were closed to enjoy the feeling of Derik inside him to the fullest.

“I’m … a tramp. I love … people like you … who do whatever they … Aaah! … want with me! Mmmh!”

“So it would seem,” Derik laughed and pumped harder and harder.

Oda wanted to scream his heart out. It was a long time ago since he last had met someone like Derik who took what he wanted from him. Oda was willingly the lowest on the totem pole when it came to sexual activity. He loved to give his body to sexually greedy people because those people knew exactly what they wanted, and they would be the best in bed. He didn’t like those who were the slightest unsure of what to do with him. He just wanted confident and strong people.

God! I’m the lowest of the low, he had thought. But he didn’t care as long as the sex was good. And now, with Derik, he thought he was about to soar up to the seventh heaven when he suddenly felt Derik shoot his load inside him and stopped his movement.

“N-no! Don’t… Not yet!” he begged desperately. He didn’t get the chance to come.

Derik laughed and pulled himself out of Oda, and then he kissed him.

“Don’t worry. I’m not finished with you yet,” he then whispered and stood up and pulled Oda up from the ground to his knees. Then he looked down at the boy and gave him one of those smiles that showed his true colors as a bully. “Now, clean it. If you’re good I’ll fuck you even more.”

Oda hissed.

“You would’ve fucked me more anyway, wouldn’t you?” he spat out with an angry voice. “You’re such a big bully!”

Derik laughed and took a hold of Oda’s hair.

“Maybe. But you love it. Don’t you?”

Oda didn’t have time to answer when Derik pushed his head closer to his groin. He urged Oda to open his mouth, and Oda did as told and licked Derik’s now softer rod from the tip to the base, and back up again. Then he swirled his tongue on the tip and worked his magic. He knew he was good at it, and soon he heard Derik let out a small moan. It sounded so sexy he couldn’t wait to hear more, and he took it into his mouth. It began to grow hard again, and when he sucked on it and made nasty noises he could hear Derik enjoy it.

“You’re good,” he said and rocked his hips a little. “Deeper.”

Oda obeyed and took it as deep as it could go down his throat. Derik let out a louder moan with the surprise, and his member became rock hard again. Oda had to pull it out to breathe, but he repeated it over and over until Derik came again, this time over Oda’s face and into his mouth.

Oda smiled a sensual smile while he licked his lips clean and stroked the semen off of his cheeks with his finger and licked it off. Derik stroked his cheek with his big hand and chuckled.

“Damn, you really are a slut.”

“Want to test me out even more?” Oda asked and laughed a flirty laugh. “I can do more than that.”

“You begged for it.”

“Indeed.”

They continued a long time. They didn’t care for anything other than each other, and when the night sky was getting lighter and the moon and stars were fading, Oda collapsed on top of Derik and breathed heavily. He was weak and tired after he had been riding Derik like a woman in heat.

“The moon…” Derik said breathlessly. “It’s almost gone.”

“Right…” Oda had to breathe for a while before he could speak again with hit hoarse and weakened voice. “You’re turning back to … a swan again?”

“Yeah…” Derik gave Oda a kiss on the top of his head and then caressed his sweaty back. “You better go.”

“Can I come back?” Oda asked. He wasn’t sure anymore if he wanted to come back because of his plan, or if it was because of something else.

“You can come back if you’re careful.”

Oda smiled and lifted his head to look at Derik.

“I am the sneakiest thief in the whole kingdom. I have even managed to sneak into your castle once,” he confessed, and Derik began laughing like he had told him a funny story.

“You’re the one who stole my crown one year ago?!” he asked while laughing and Oda chuckled happily.

“Bingo!”

Suddenly something hit Oda in the head and he rolled off of Derik and the prince got up to his feat.

“Next time you’re stealing from me I’ll chop your hands off!” Derik growled, and Oda cursed.

“You ungrateful asshole! I gave you the best night in your stupid lame life, and now you hit me?!”

Derik stared at the boy who held his head in his hands like it was still hurting, and then he sighed and reached out his hand to him. Oda stared at the hand for a while but grabbed it and Derik helped him up to his feet. Oda was a little wobbly after the night’s activities.

“Take it easy. You’re exhausted,” Derik said with a soft voice, and it surprised Oda.

“Uh… I’m okay.”

“Then get dressed and go before the moon fades out completely.”

They both dressed and when Oda was about to disappear into the forest he turned around to watch while Derik sadly waded out to the lake. Then, when the moon disappeared, a sphere of water covered him – just like the last time – and when the dazzling light faded and the sphere collapsed the only thing that remained was a sad white swan.

Even though he acts all mighty and cocky, he really is depressed by the situation. He can’t go home because of that spell Rothaar has cast on him, he thought. Suddenly he realized he was feeling sad for Derik. Collect your thoughts! You’re here for the money in his royal vault, not for his heart! I’m a thief! I don’t need anyone’s heart!

He ran and disappeared into the forest.

Oda continued to visit Derik during the nights. Oda had made a small camp deep inside the forest where he slept during the days. He had turned his daily rhythm upside down because of that prince, and after a week of visits and nightly activities Oda began to realize he actually loved Derik – and he knew Derik felt something for him too. He was still rough like a brute while they were making love, but at the same time his behavior against Oda had changed. He had opened up to him and cared for him.

What have I gotten myself into? I’m a thief!, he sighed while he was leaving the lake after spending the night with Derik. He was exhausted and tired, and he needed to sleep.

Suddenly something covered his mouth and a weird paralyzed sensation spread through his body. Someone laughed behind him. It was an evil but childish laugh.

“I knew there was something off with Derik, and now I’ve discovered the reason. A little rat has sneaked into my quarters,” said a voice next to Oda’s left ear.

He recognized the voice, and when the person behind him let go of his mouth and came around him Oda realized that it was Rothaar, the red-haired young sorcerer who was after Derik’s kingdom. He couldn’t move, so he understood that Rothaar had casted a spell on him which paralyzed him.

“But I have to say he has good taste in boys. You look pretty good,” Rothaar then said with his haughty voice. “But what I don’t understand is why he won’t give himself to me. I’m not that bad looking either. I must confess that I’m pretty jealous that you got to make love with him and I didn’t. He really is handsome and to die for.”

“Do you honestly think that a person will fall in love with his jailor?” Oda asked, and Rothaar laughed.

“But there are people who do! That’s called the Stockholm syndrome,” the other boy said and pushed his finger slightly at Oda’s nose.

“Derik is stronger than that. He has denied you for several months now, and he has finally found someone who’ll set him free. You have no power over him at all,” Oda said with an angry voice.

Rothaar chuckled.

“Oh, yes! I know he has fallen for you. And I even think that the prince charming will promise his eternal love for you the next time he’ll see you. But what if I get to him first by disguising myself as you? I am a sorcerer after all,” he said with a pretty smile on his innocent face.

“You think that Derik wouldn’t notice?” Oda laughed. “We’ve been talking every night and he knows every movement I make. He knows everything about me! I’ve told him everything there is to know.”

Rothaar chuckled again and snapped his fingers. He didn’t answer and began singing and dancing away in the direction of the castle. Oda was strangely floating after him in mid air like a little boat floated after a big ship on a calm sea. He couldn’t do anything. He was completely paralyzed.

When they reached the castle he was locked inside a cell in the basement. Rothaar smiled at him with an angelic smile which made Oda want to puke.

“So when the evening comes I’ll come back to visit you again. During the day you can sit there and just think about your little prince charming who’s waiting for you at the lake. I bet he’s thinking about what to say to you when he sees you the next time.”

“You asshole! Open up right now!”

“Na-aa!”

Rothaar went up the stairs and disappeared with a smile on his face. Oda was so frustrated and angry that he couldn’t think straight and kicked a wooden bucket that stood next to him.

“Damn it!” he cursed out loud.

When the night fell Rothaar came back down to the cell. He was smiling happily and hummed like a pleased housewife while cooking.

“So now the time has come! I just wanted to show you my superb transformation from me to you, so look closely,” he said, and Oda stared at him like he was throwing daggers with his gaze. “Oh, don’t look at me like that! Your expression is scary,” Rothaar said like he was talking to a baby, and then he laughed again.

He snapped his fingers, and after some sparkling and shining light there stood an exact copy of Oda. He had the same clothes, the right height (Oda was a few centimeters taller than Rothaar) and even the same face and hair.

“So, what do you think? Amazing, isn’t it?” Rothaar asked with Oda’s voice.

“You sicken me!” Oda yelled, and Rothaar shook his head.

“Now now, don’t use a language like that. It’s not nice. Well, it doesn’t matter! After tonight I’ll get Derik and you’ll die the moment he declares his love for yo… Uh… I mean me.”

“WHAT?!”

“Oh, didn’t I mention that before?” Rothaar asked and faked his surprise. “If he declares his love for the wrong person, the one he truly loves will die. Not that I’m complaining. I’ll become his lover and get married with him, and then I’ll kill him so that I’ll get sole rights to his kingdom. Oh, I’m so thrilled!”

“You can’t do that!” Oda yelled desperately. Am I about to die?

“Oh I can’t? I’m sorry, I can’t find the rulebook for these kinds of situations. Enjoy your last hours of life, my dear Oda. Thank you for making this possible for me. Before I go I’ll put a harmless spell on you. You’ll hear everything I and Derik will say to each other. That way you will suffer right until the moment you die.”

Rothaar clapped his hand and disappeared, and Oda was left alone again. Oda screamed after Rothaar, but Rothaar didn’t answer. He was gone to meet with Derik in his fake appearance of Oda.

“What should I do?! I’ll die and Derik will let that bastard take his throne away from him!”

Oda panicked. He didn’t know what to do. He had to get out from the cell and warn Derik. He had to break out. But how?

I don’t have my tools here so I can’t pick the lock. And I’m not strong enough to break the bars. But there has to be something…!

He stared at the wooden bucket which lay in a corner of the cell. It had a thin metal wire as a handle.

“How stupid can I get?! My lock picking tools are made of stuff like that wire on the bucket! I’ve made them myself!” he exclaimed and put his knowledge as a thief to use.

Derik was sitting at the stairs at the lake and waited for Oda. He had decided that he’ll promise his eternal love to Oda once the boy would appear from the woods. He was nervous. He knew he would break the spell by doing so, and he had to be honest and admit that he wished for the spell to remain so that he could keep on meeting with Oda like this. Once he would return to his castle he would be restricted again.

Damn! That stupid kid has made me all fucked up in the head, he sighed and massaged his temples. But it feels nice though. I’ll take him back to my castle and make him mine no matter if he cries and begs to let him go, he then thought and smiled. But he would just jump around of joy. He’ll get all the money he could ever dream of. He’s thinks I don’t know that he’s with me because of my money.

“But a thief is a thief and he has stolen the most important thing of mine,” he said to himself.

“You mean I’ve stolen your heart?” he heard Oda’s voice say behind him, and he hurried to stand up and turn around to see the boy in front of him. “Sorry if I made you wait,” he then said with a smile.

“It’s okay. The sky isn’t so clear so the moon is disappearing into the clouds at times,” he said. “So I want to make this quick before I turn into a swan again.”

“Sure,” Oda answered with a happy smile on his face.

Finally the cell door opened and Oda hurried out from the cell. His heart was beating like crazy and he was so scared that he ran faster he’d ever done before. He had heard everything Rothaar and Derik had said. He hurried up the stairs and across the floor to the big door that led outside, but suddenly he came to a halt. He saw a collection of old and rusty swords that hung on the wall. He picked one of them and then hurried outside. Then he rushed down the stairs that led out to the garden.

Please! Don’t be too quick to promise your love to me! Wait just a little longer!, he thought with tears in his eyes.

“You know we’ve talked a lot and that we have got to know each other pretty well even though it’s only been this short time. And I know that you may not be with me because you love me. I’ve kind of figured it out that you may be with me because of my money. You are a fucking greedy runt after all.”

Rothaar smiled under his cover. Derik didn’t even suspect him.

“You’ve gotten it all wrong. I don’t care about your money. Not at all. I love you, and only you,” he said with a soft voice.

“What?”

“I mean… After all we’ve been through I realized that money means nothing to me. Why don’t you just promise me your eternal love and then we’ll hurry back to your castle and prove to everybody that you’re still alive?” Rothaar continued.

“Are you okay, Oda?” Derik asked.

“Yes, why?”

“I don’t know. Something is off with you. You talk funny.”

“I do?” Rothaar began to sweat a little. “Maybe I’ve gotten a fever or something.”

Derik put his hand on Rothaar’s forehead.

“You are a little sweaty so maybe you’re developing a fever. Maybe we shouldn’t have bathed in the lake last night?” he said worried.

He’s so kind. I’m so jealous that I didn’t get him to fall for me. He had to fall for a stupid thief!, Rothaar thought. But I’m sorry, Derik. Your little boy will die tonight and you’ll soon follow after him, and I’ll get to rule over your kingdom for eternity!

“Never mind that. Let’s break the spell and run away from this creepy place,” he said and felt a little frustrated.

Hurry up!

“Oda. I really and honestly feel that I can be myself with you. I may be an asshole at some times, but please accept me for who I am. I want you to come home with me, and I’ll promise you that I will love you for ev…”

Suddenly something came flying through the air and hit Rothaar in the back.

“Aaargh!”

It was a sword which had pierced him through his stomach.

“Not so fast, you impostor! Don’t you dare to steal my man away from me!” Derik heard Oda’s voice call from behind the wounded Oda.

“What…?!”

Oda came running all out of breath.

“I ran the whole fucking way from the castle. I’m beat! Now hurry and promise me your eternal love and then we can finish of that crazy wizard!”

“Oda? But… Who…?” Derik was confused.

“I’ve heard everything you’ve said! Did you really think that I wouldn’t care about your big mountain of royal gold even though I love you like crazy? I am a thief after all!” he yelled angrily and then pointed at the fake Oda. “That’s Rothaar! He kidnapped me and locked me in a cell. Then he did some weird magic and he took the form of me. His plan was to make you promise your love to the wrong me and then kill both of us just to get your kingdom,” he then explained.

“Rothaar?!” Derik stood up from where he was sitting and stared at the wounded fake Oda in front of his feet. “Show your true form, Rothaar.”

Rothaar did as told and snapped his now weak fingers. He turned back into his real form.

“Sorry, Derik. I did try to fool you, but I guess that wasn’t possible,” the red-haired boy said with a weak voice and tears in his eyes. “But I really did look forward to us being lovers. Pretty stupid, right? I’m not a good villain after all.”

Rothaar laughed a sad laugh and then coughed blood. “I think I’m dying…”

“Serves you right!” Oda yelled, but Derik hushed him and knelt down next to Rothaar and took his hand in his own.

“I knew you weren’t really bad inside. You just were blinded by your goal of taking over my kingdom and not thinking straight,” he said softly.

“Now you’re taking his side?! I can’t believe this!” Oda yelled, and Derik closed his other hand to a fist.

“Shut the fuck up, you irritating brat! I’m talking here!”

“Well sorry for not being able to sympathize with someone who tried to kills us both,” Oda muttered.

Derik ignored him and then turned his attention to Rothaar again. “I’m really mad at you, and you have to take the consequences of your actions. Actually I’m pretty relieved that we’ll part here. But at the same time I want to thank you for making it possible for me to meet Oda. Without your kidnapping I wouldn’t have met him.”

Rothaar smiled a sad smile.

“You know it really hurts when you say that. I can’t believe I failed at being a villain and instead I played the role of a matchmaker. That’s a real anti-climax isn’t it?” He coughed again and blood was dripping out from the corner of his lips. “But at least I’ll be parting from this world by looking at your face. That’s not bad at all.”

Derik chuckled.

“You really are a little runt. But just so you know: You really are beautiful with your red hair and silver eyes,” he said, and Rothaar’s smile faded away and his face became blank.

“You know – that’s the nicest parting words anyone has ever said to me...”

“He’s dead now?” Oda asked, and Derik caressed Rothaar’s red hair once before he stood up and looked at Oda.

“Yes. But it’s just for the good. He was a too powerful sorcerer to be left alive.” Derik took the few steps that remained to Oda, and then he smiled and caressed his blonde hair. “So, shall we break the spell?” Oda wanted to say yes, but he was suddenly too nervous – so he stayed quiet. Derik took a deep breath and then said: “I want to take you home with me. Will you come with me?”. Oda nodded. “Then I promise you that I’ll love you for all eternity no matter what.”

“No matter what?” Oda asked.

“I’ll chain you to the bed if I have to,” Derik hissed, and Oda gulped.

“Is that a threat?”

“You bet your ass it is.”
