The Aviator

So here it is! It's finally finished! It took months to write this because of all the research I had to do!

It's about a 19 year old boy named Shiina in a world which is covered by world war. He is the world’s greatest pilot and flies a very old combat plane model. He’s the only one in the whole world with his skills on that old plane, and he outruns every single modern combat plane even though his old plane is considered an antique.

But during a mission he crashes into enemy territory and he and his plane is captured by the enemy and taken to enemy camp. There he meets the General who is a proud and strong young man just a few years older than Shiina himself, and it turns out that this General knows more about Shiina than anyone else. But why?

The
General promises to patch up his plane and gets his engineers to work on it night and day. Shiina loves his plane too much to live without it and carefully monitors the process every waking moment from the window of the General’s bedroom where he is locked up.

He knows he has to escape to save his plane which will be given to the enemy leader as a gift, but will he be able to make it?

As I said before this took months to write. I had to wait for the special and right time and mood to write this, and I think this is the very best work I’ve done yet. I’m very proud of it.

I dunno where I got my inspiration. I guess I got a little inspiration from Maiden Rose by Inariya Fusanosuke considering the world war thing, but other than that… I dunno. xD

I really hope you enjoy it!

“Mayday! Mayday! Mayday! This is Delta, Sierra, Zulu, Echo in the Eagle Eye Squadron calling the headquarters! I have been hit!  I have to make an emergency landing on enemy territory!”

Shiina’s voice shook and the adrenaline pumped in his body. He could see the smoke from the plane’s tail in the mirror. His heavy heart beat fast and hard, and cold sweat made his uniform damp.

Delta, Sierra, Zulu, Echo. Your mayday has been acknowledged by the ground troops. What is your position? Over.

Shiina tried to look at his instruments, but they didn’t make any sense. The blast from the hit must have broken the electronic navigator.

“My instruments are damaged. I can’t give you my position! Over!”

What is your course? Can you see any landmarks? Over.

Shiina looked out of the window, but it was too dark to see anything and he had to concentrate on keeping the plane steady. But it was hard, and the moment he lost his concentration just a little bit the whole plane made an intimidating motion that made his heart beat even faster. He then looked at the compass.

“I’m on a course at 142,6 degrees! I can’t see anything on the ground! It’s too dark! My plane is losing power, and I have to make an emergency landing now. I’ll try and contact you after I’ve landed! Over!”

We will send troops to look for you! Stay where you are if possible! Report back after the landing if you can. Over.

“Confirmed! Over!”

He put the radio down and took a hold of the plane’s steering. Then he tried to steer the plane closer to the ground to try and find a place to land. Anywhere was good as long as his plane wouldn’t get damaged. His heart didn’t beat hard because he was scared of dying. He was worried about his plane.

Then he spotted a field and decided to try an emergency landing there. So he made a fast u-turn with the plane protesting heavily and then closed the distance between him and the ground. He slowed down the speed, but his plane was so badly damaged that it swayed from side to side and was almost impossible to control. He became even more worried about the landing. What if the plane crashed? What if it got so damaged that it couldn’t fly anymore?

“Please… Hold on. We’re almost there,” he whispered and prayed while he saw the ground come closer and closer. “Don’t give up on me now.”

Then he felt the wheels touch the ground on the planes right side. It then swayed over to the left side, and suddenly there was a hard tug on the plane and Shiina could hear a loud cracking sound. Something had broken under the plane, and the next second he understood it was the landing gear that had been tugged off.

“Please!” he yelled with tears in his eyes while the plane’s body hit the ground and slid across the field. He couldn’t do anything to control this terrifying situation, and then suddenly the plane hit something and it came to an abrupt stop that almost made him fly out of his seat. A piercing pain rushed throughout his body and the hit knocked the wind out of him.

“Agh!”

When he looked down he saw a metal piece that had pierced his right thigh. The blood came gushing out from the wound. He knew he had gotten a fatal wound. What would he do now? His sight was blurry and his head was spinning. He must have gotten a concussion.

He heard voices outside and someone was screaming. It took a while before the voices came closer, and soon someone opened the hatch and pushed a cold metal pipe against his head. The voices he heard were talking in the enemy’s language.

“He’s still alive, but he seems badly injured!” someone yelled.

“Hurry and get him out of there before the whole plane and tank explodes!”

Someone took a hold of Shiina and pulled him out of the plane. His leg hurt really badly and he couldn’t help the whimpering. Nothing made any sense to him and the voices made him even more confused than he already was. His sight wasn’t much help to him. It was so blurry and dark that he could only see the lights from the flashlights.

“He needs immediate medical treatment! Take him to the field doctor! Stop the bleeding!”

He was carried to a truck and then someone pushed hard against his injured leg.

“Aaargh!”

“Move! To the control center! Hurry!” someone yelled, and the truck began to move. Right after that he lost his consciousness.

“Ugh…”

He woke up and opened his eyes slightly. He saw a wooden ceiling with beautiful golden decorations and paintings. When he rolled his head to the side he saw a desk made of dark red rosewood, and then he saw a guard in front of the door. The guard took a hold of the radio and said:

General. The prisoner has woken up.”

Shiina stared at the soldier’s uniform. He understood that the uniform was the one his enemy wore, and he also understood that he was held as a prisoner of war.

His right leg hurt, and his body felt kind of numb. There was a loud pounding in his ears and made his thoughts fussy. He felt as if he had been hit by a train. He was also cold sweating and it felt like he had a fever. He knew it was because of his wound. He also noticed that he was dressed in some kind of hospital robe, and there was a thick layer of bandage around his thigh.

There were heavy steps outside the door that reminded Shiina of his superior. Then the door opened and a young man who seemed to be just a few years older than Shiina stepped inside. He wore the uniform of an enemy General, and his posture was that of an arrogant and strong leader. His hair was as black as Shiina’s, but it was combed neatly back under the visor cap. On his belt hung a pistol in a holster.

“You can leave us,” the enemy General said with a proud-spirited tone, and the soldier left the room. “You made a very impressive crash-landing there. You crashed right into one of our tanks. Luckily it didn’t explode. You’ve been out for almost 24 hours,” he then said with an evil smile on his lips.

Shiina stared at the man. He felt suddenly scared when he saw the proud General in front of him. But he became even more scared when he thought about his plane. He sat up in the bed and was about to stand up when his right leg hurt and he fell to the floor. The General laughed amused.

“Calm down. You were badly hurt, but we managed to patch you up.”

The General took a few steps closer and reached out his hand to Shiina to help him up, but Shiina didn’t touch it.

“My plane… Where is it?” he asked, and the General corrected his posture again and looked out the window.

“Ah, your plane. It’s right outside. You can see it from the window. I must say that’s a very old model. You’re sure that thing is suited for combat?” he said, but Shiina didn’t listen. He hurried to stand up from the floor with some support from the bed, and then he turned around and rushed to the window.

There he saw his fighter plane in the darkness. It was lit up by headlights and men were working on it. It stood there with a crushed nose and without any wheels, and the sides were dented.

“It’s a beautiful airplane though. A fighter of a very old model. If I remember correctly there is a rumor about the enemy having a very skilled young pilot with an old airplane. He is said to be the military air force’s pride as the most skilled pilot in history. And the kid is only nineteen years old.”

Shiina didn’t really listen. His heart was crying. His plane was badly damaged. He closed his fists hard and tried not to break down in front of the enemy, but his heart hurt so much he didn’t know how long he could manage.

Then one tear rolled down his cheek.

“And now we’re crying, are we?” the General said with a sarcastic tone in his voice. “But don’t worry. My engineers are working on it. They said that the plane isn’t actually that badly damaged. The damage is only on the outside while the engine is untouched except for some pipes and such. Give it a few days and it’ll be as good as new.”

Shiina turned his face against the enemy General and stared surprised at him.

“Why are you doing this?” he asked quietly.

The General smiled coldly and looked at the wounded Shiina.

“We’re planning on keeping the plane as a trophy. You’re the pilot everyone is talking about, right? You are the boy who keeps on pushing the limits in aviation combat with that old plane of yours. You even outrun the modern planes with your aviation skills. It would be a big honor to give it as a gift to our great leader.”

Shiina’s eyes widened.

“You’re going to take it away from me?” he asked, and the General nodded. Shiina panicked and took a hold of the General’s jacket with his weak hands. “Don’t take it away from me! Please!”

The General stared at Shiina in surprise. “Why shouldn’t I?”

“Please! That plane is everything I have!”

The General sighed and pushed the weakened and shorter Shiina away, and the boy fell to the bed. Then the General took off his cap and put it on the rosewood desk. He continued with his black leather gloves, and then the gun holster.

“Why are you so attached to that plane?” he asked and then moved closer. He leaned over Shiina and looked him deep into the eyes.

Shiina began cold sweating more than he already did. He didn’t like having the man so close that he could smell his cologne.

“That plane…” Shiina’s voice shook of insecurity. “It’s special to me. It’s my home; my whole world.”

“Your whole world?” the General asked and stroked Shiina’s chin with his fingers.

Shiina hesitated.

“It’s as if the plane is … an extension of my body and soul. It's like a heart to me. Without it I'll die. It’s more important to me than myself,” he finally whispered. The General stared at him with a confused look in his eyes.

“You’re telling me that you love your plane more than anything else in the world?” he asked with a seductive voice. Shiina nodded slightly, and the General chuckled. “That’s touching. But then how would you react if I ordered the plane to be demolished?”

Shiina’s eyes widened in horror.

“You wouldn’t!”

“No? Then try me,” the General laughed, and Shiina shook his head violently and tried to push the General off him.

“Let me go! I won’t give that plane to you! Don’t you dare touch it!”

The General laughed and took a hold of his wrists and pinned them down to the madras next to Shiina’s shoulders.

“You think you are in a position to threaten me?” he asked with a powerful feel behind his voice. Shiina stared panicked at him.

“Please… Don’t destroy it. I’ll do anything!”

“Anything?” The General smiled in victory.

Shiina hesitated to answer and swallowed hard. Had he said something he shouldn’t? But his plane was his everything. He had to protect it with all his might. If he couldn’t protect it by fighting for it, then he had to bargain with the enemy.

“Anything,” he whispered and sighed heavily. “I’ll do anything you ask. Just don’t take it away from me. I’ll even fight for you if you want me too.”

The General stared at him with surprise.

“Are you willing to betray your own country for that airplane?”

“It’s not my country even though I live there. They hired me because of my skills. Flying is the only thing I’m good at,” Shiina answered quietly.

“They hired a boy with no military training to fight in aviation combat. You’re not strong like a soldier should be, but still you fly and aim better than any pilot in the whole world. I can understand why they would want you. Any army in the whole world would like to have you.”

“It’s not like I fight because I want too. The plane is always in danger when we fly during combat.”

“But you fight because your father once flew under the command of your country’s military, right?”

Shiina stared shocked at him. How could he know?

“It surprises me that you don’t recognize me. I know more about you than anyone else.”

The General told Shiina about Shiina’s childhood – how his family moved from their home country to another with a whole different culture so that Shiina’s father could study in the world’s renowned pilot school. After his father graduated he got a job as a carrier, and he would fly all over the country with special deliveries. He got his own airplane – a very old fighter model, and when Shiina hit the age of seven he got to go with his father to deliver packages and letters. After his first flight Shiina became obsessed with airplanes.

But two years later the war between several countries broke out, and Shiina’s father was forced to join the army as a combat pilot – he left Shiina and his mother along with the old fighter plane in the hangar which he had built to protect the plane from unnecessary wind and rain. That was the last time he saw his father. Next thing he knew his father’s military plane was found on a field. It had crashed and burned so bad that there wasn’t anything left.

No one knew what had happened to Shiina’s father, but everybody knew what a spectacular pilot he had been, and that was when Shiina decided to become a pilot and avenge his father.

He began training by himself. He imitated everything he had seen his father do while they were flying during deliveries. First he would just sit in his father’s old plane and play with the instruments and try to remember how to fly. Then he gathered courage and started the plane. It resulted in a wrecked garden and he almost crashed into the house before he got control over the plane.

One day, when Shiina - as an eleven year old boy - was reading a book about aviation on the big fields that surrounded their house, another boy few years older than Shiina appeared from the high grass. He had run away from home, and the two boys immediately became friends. It turned out that the other boy lived pretty close to Shiina, and they would play together from morning to night. Shiina taught him about airplanes, and soon the two boys learned how to drive the plane on the ground.

It didn’t take long before they tried to get the plane up in to the air, and after a few hours of hesitation Shiina hit the accelerator and the plane got air under its wings and left the ground. It had been a chaotic flight that consisted of about ten minutes until they made a bumpy landing.

But after a few months the other boy and his family moved, and Shiina was again left alone.

“So there you have it,” the General said.

Shiina’s eyes were filled with tears as he looked into those now familiar eyes.

“Nicolas?” he asked, and the General smiled.

“Now you remember me,” he said, and Shiina shook his head.

“Why are you on the enemy’s side? And as a General?” he asked with a weak voice. “Why did you betray your country?”

“I was fed up with their politics, and as soon as we moved I began my military training. I was one hell of a soldier, so in the end I deserved the position of a General. When I heard about the rumors about the great young pilot in the enemy’s air force I immediately knew it was you. You’ve grown from a little boy to the world’s greatest pilot in no time, and you’ve grown to a very attractive young man at that,” Nicolas whispered and closed the distance between their lips.

Shiina felt the softness from Nicolas’s lips on his own. His head spun and he didn’t really know how to process the situation. He had never thought of other people in a romantic way, so he didn’t know what to think or feel. He didn’t even know how to react on the fact that it was another man who was kissing him and holding him down against the madras on the king-sized bed.

Nicolas opened the small laces over Shiina’s chest that held the hospital robe closed. When he had opened every knot on the laces he pushed the robe open and then released Shiina’s lips with his. He then kissed and licked Shiina’s neck. It felt so weird that it tickled everywhere.

“What are you doing?” Shiina asked nervously.

“Enjoying the spoils of war,” Nicolas answered and continued his kisses lower and lower until he licked Shiina’s left nipple.

“Ah!”

“It feels good?” he asked and looked up at the blushing Shiina.

“Release me,” the younger man whispered, but Nicolas just answered with a smile and then continued sucking and playing with Shiina’s nipples with his lips and tongue.

“Mm! Ow!”

Shiina tried to squirm but his leg hurt so bad he had to lay still. If he moved too much it would hurt. But the sensation of someone’s lips on his skin made him feel relaxed in a weird way, but at the same time there was some kind of disgusting yearning going on in the rest of his body. It was as if his body was curious and asking “If it feels this good here - then how would it feel on the rest?” He definitely felt a sensation like lightning from his nipples and down to the rest of his body.

He couldn’t understand why Nicolas did this though. Did he just toy with him? But why? Shiina knew he looked younger and innocent. He had been teased a lot at the military until he had shown his skills in battle. After that the other pilots and soldiers showed him more respect. But for someone to take it this far…

“Please. Just stop,” he begged with a weak voice, and Nicolas stopped toying with Shiina’s nipples.

“You want me to touch something else?” he asked, and Shiina blushed even more.

“Why are you doing this?”

Nicolas sat up and looked at Shiina. Shiina stared at the man's cold eyes and tried to understand why he did what he did. He was so confused.

"’Why’ you ask? How can I not? When you get a pray like this of course you'll want to play with it."

Nicolas's voice was cold but seductive. Shiina felt groggy from just listening to it. His body hurt but at the same time it wanted more. It was curious of what more it could feel under Nicolas's touch.

Nicolas poked at Shiina's right nipple and Shiina yelped. It felt good. Again electric shocks flashed through his body, and he wanted to arch his back. But his leg hurt too much and it resulted in a cry of pain.

"It feels good?" Nicolas asked, but Shiina was too embarrassed to answer. His cheeks felt hot and he felt humiliated.

"Please, just stop it. I don't want this," he sobbed as he watched the other man unbuttoning his trousers. The tears were rolling down Shiina's hot cheeks. "Don't do this, Nicolas. Weren't we friend before?"

"That was many years ago. I can still remember how much I admired your courage to one day fly your father’s plane. Ever since the first time I heard you talk about that plane of yours I've wanted you. I wanted to see you cry, and I still do. That's why I'm still thinking about destroying your plane right in front of your eyes."

Shiina's heart skipped a beat.

"Don't! I'll do anything! Why would you destroy it?" he cried, and Nicolas laughed a menacing laugh and leaned over him to brush Shiina's lips with his own as he answered:

"Because I hate that plane."

He kissed Shiina brutally. He forced the boy's lips apart and pushed in his tongue to assault Shiina's. It began watering in Shiina's mouth as he felt Nicolas's tongue massage his own. Saliva began to drip from the corners of his lips, and it felt like his fever got even worse. He had a hard time to think, and it was even harder to breathe. He let out small moans into Nicolas's mouth.

Nicolas let go of his lips and carefully pulled up Shiina's legs under his arms so that Shiina's private parts were vulnerably exposed. Shiina cried out. It hurt and he whimpered under Nicolas.

"You said you would do anything for that plane of yours, right?" he asked, and Shiina opened his tightly shut eyes and looked up at him. Nicolas pulled out his member from its soft prison and pushed it against Shiina's opening between his buttocks. "Will you let me rape you?" he then asked, and Shiina stared at him while holding his breath. "If you do any kind of resistance I'll give my men the order to destroy your plane."

Shiina let out his breath in a sob and took a deep breath again. Then he slowly gave Nicolas his approval in form of a nod, and Nicolas smiled in victory and pushed his member all the way inside Shiina's soft flesh.

"AH! Ah!"

Shiina screamed. His body hurt so bad he thought he was about to die. His head felt like it would explode and his body split in two. As Nicolas began moving Shiina's screams became louder and he wanted to push the other man off of him. But thoughts about his plane flashed in his mind and his heart screamed to him not to resist. Instead he gripped the sheets and pulled on them. The pain from Nicolas moving inside his body was greater than the pain from his injured leg.

"Your look is amazing, Shiina. And your body is hot and tight. It's amazing too. You feel so good..."

"Nngh! Aagh!"

Shiina tried not to let his voice take over. He tried to control it as much as possible, but it hurt so much he was helpless against the pain. He hadn't gotten any military training and so he hadn't learned how to control the pain. He just wanted to yell "stop" but restrained himself from doing so because of his promise not to do any resistance.

"Does it hurt?" Nicolas asked and stopped his movement. Shiina whimpered and hid his face in his hands.

"Yes. It hurts."

Nicolas smiled and changed his position a little by lifting Shiina's legs some more. Shiina cried again because of the pain in his leg.

"Then how does this feel?" he asked and pushed his member inside Shiina again. But this time he hit a spot that made Shiina's body confused. It felt like he was about to melt like honey if it wasn't because of the pain in his leg and from his body being pushed open by Nicolas's member.

"Ooh!"

"Feels good, right?" Nicolas asked. "Describe the feeling to me. Tell me everything you feel."

He began moving in and out of Shiina again, and Shiina tried to relax a little now that it felt better.

"Nngh! It hurts... Ah!" Shiina managed to say between his ragged breaths.

"And...? Tell me more," Nicolas panted and continued attacking Shiina's good spot.

"Ah... But it feels b... better now ... than before."

"Why?"

Shiina felt so humiliated by this. His most sensitive and private parts were assaulted by his enemy who threatened his plane. He didn't want to continue spilling everything he felt for Nicolas but he didn't have a choice.

"Because you're ... hitting something... Ah! ... That makes it ... feel good. Nngh-aah! But it still hurts!"

"Good boy, Shiina. How do you feel about this?" Nicolas asked with an evil smile on his lips. Shiina could see that he really enjoyed doing this to him.

"Ugh! Ah! I... I ... don't want ... this. I feel so ... humiliated," he managed to say.

"That's good. Keep on telling me everything."

"W-why?" Shiina cried, and Nicolas snorted with that menacing smile of his while he kept on plunging into Shiina.

"I want to humiliate you until you break down to nothing."

Nicolas's answer made Shiina shudder. He suddenly became more scared than he could remember he had ever been before. He knew Nicolas would destroy his plane sooner or later no matter what Shiina did. He had to escape with it before his plane would meet its doom and be shredded to pieces.

He continued to endure Nicolas's treatment, but soon he began to feel like something was building up inside him, and he began to pant more frantically. His voice was ragged and his breaths sounded torn. It didn't hurt that much anymore and instead it felt good. His body enjoyed it and he had to bury his hands into his hair and grip it until his knuckles turned white. His voice got louder and soon he lost himself in the enormous feeling of being filled with something. It felt like he would explode any minute.

"Aaah! Ah! Mmh! Ah!"

"You're about to come?" Nicolas asked, but Shiina was lost in his own world of painful pleasure. "But I won’t let you. Not just yet."

Right before Shiina would let his body erupt Nicolas took a tight grip around Shiina's now rock hard member and stopped him. It felt like torture. Shiina could only try to chase the release with all his might. He tightened his muscles around Nicolas's member to seek out a release that never came. He began sobbing while Nicolas kept on hitting hard against Shiina's special spot, and soon he felt like he would go insane and he began to scream.

"Make it stop! I can't take it anymore! Aaah!" he yelled like his life depended on it.

"Beg for it," Nicolas's cruel voice said from somewhere above him.

"Please! Oh! Release me! Let me come! Please, let me come!" he cried over and over again. "Aaah! Please!"

"Good boy," Nicolas smiled amused and let go of Shiina's member to caress his cheek. He began pumping harder than ever before, and just a few seconds later Shiina's body got its release and he thought he was dying. It felt like all his emotions and pride flowed out of him, making him the lowest of the low. At the same moment Nicolas released his load inside Shiina, and after that he collapsed on top of the exhausted boy.

Shiina dreamt about his childhood. He saw the big fields where his house had stood. His mother waived to him from the window and somewhere far away he could hear the sound of his father's plane coming closer after being on a delivery mission.

But then his father died and he saw his father’s corpse in front of him laying in the coffin. Shiina was crying. He promised to himself to learn how to fly no matter what.

Then he saw the younger Nicolas come running towards him over the grass field. He smiled and waved to him. But then he disappeared as he moved away. Shiina could still remember the sadness from that time when he lost his only friend. So he dedicated his whole life to his father's old plane which had been left behind after his death.

The next thing Shiina knew he had celebrated his sixteenth birthday and he had already began working as a carrier and supported his now sick mother. She had gotten a disease that needed medical treatment, but they didn’t have the money to pay for it. Shiina tried to work as hard as he could, but he didn’t get much over from his payment after he had refueled the plane. The fuel was getting more and more expensive now that the war between countries had turned out to be a long lasting one.

Two years after that Shiina’s mother passed away, and Shiina decided to leave the house and join the army. The military was first skeptical because Shiina wasn’t strong and didn’t have any training, and they just laughed at his father’s old plane. But when Shiina got angry and sat down in the plane he gave them a show they would never forget. He showed them that together with his old plane he was the king of the sky, and the military had hired him on the spot.

But while being up in the air during one of his missions he could see something on the ground. He flew closer and saw a man standing there. When he flew even closer he saw that it was Nicolas in the enemy's uniform smiling back at him with his fingers gripping the edge of his visor with the golden General markings. He got a weird pulse like he was terrified, and suddenly he lost control of his plane. Its body was being torn apart by something, and Shiina panicked and tried to hold the pieces together. But then his plane fell apart completely and he fell from the sky. His wings had been taken away from him.

With a cry he sat up in bed, damp from the cold sweat. He looked around the room and realized he was still in Nicolas's room. He remembered the dream and got suddenly worried for his plane. He stood up from the bed but got suddenly reminded about the pain in his leg and rest of his body, and he fell to the floor. He heard rustling from the bed and a taunting voice asked:

"What are you doing?"

Then he understood that Nicolas must have been sleeping next to him on the bed. The bed sheets rustled a little more and then he heard footsteps come closer from behind the bed corner. Shiina wanted to stand up but his body didn't allow it. He was weak of both pain and fever.

Nicolas grabbed him and pulled him up from the floor. Shiina had to take a hold of Nicolas's bare shoulders so that he could stand up. He hated that he had to cling around his enemy's body to be able to stand.

"My plane... Is it still okay?" Shiina asked with a torn voice.

"Yes. The engineers are still working on it. I don't know how far they have gotten, but they have been working on it for the whole night. It's still early in the morning, so go to sleep and try to rest."

The man's voice was still cold, but it wasn't evil anymore.

"I want to see my plane", Shiina insisted and held his breath while he waited for the General's answer.

Nicolas stood there quiet for a while with Shiina in his arms, and then sighed.

"Very well. Get dressed and I'll escort you out to your plane."

Shiina got back his white hospital robe and Nicolas put on his uniform, and then he ordered the guard outside the door to get a wheelchair to Shiina. Shiina was still too unstable to walk alone. After the wheelchair came the guard helped Shiina to the chair, and then the three went outside into the early autumn night.

"Status report," Nicolas said as they arrived to the plane.

The engineers and mechanics raised their hands to their forehead and greeted their General with outmost respect.

"We believe we have fixed the engine, sir. We haven't tested it yet though," one of them said, and Nicolas watched Shiina worriedly look at his plane.

"Will you test it?" the General asked, and as one of the mechanics was about to climb up to the cockpit Shiina said with his broken voice:

"Please, let me."

Everybody looked at the injured aviator in his wheelchair, and Nicolas nodded. Shiina tried to stand up from the wheelchair but it hurt really badly in his body. He fell back into the wheelchair and sighed before he tried again.

With some support from the wheelchair and then the plane he finally got up and into the cockpit. His leg and body hurt so much he thought he was seeing stars, but he really wanted to be with his plane and endured it. He carefully sat down in the seat and looked at the interior. There was blood everywhere and every instrument was broken except for the engine's rpm meter.

"We currently use an external cooling and fuel system. The only thing you need to do is to just start it," an engineer said, and Shiina nodded. He took a deep breath and pushed the start button for the engine. It roared and the plane vibrated for a few seconds, but then the engine died.

Again!, Shiina thought and tried to start the engine again. "Please start," he whispered, but the engine died again. He continued to restart but the engine didn't want to. Tears flowed up to his eyes and he cursed and gave up. He leaned forward and rested his head against the instrument panel. He tried not to cry out his frustration and sadness.

"Give me just a second," one of the engineers said and began working with the engine again. Shiina listened to the clinking sound from the tools and soon the engineer asked Shiina to try again.

Shiina sat up straight and did as he was told in hope of getting the engine to live again. It roared again and then died. "Come on!" Shiina shouted as he began panicking. If the plane was dead he didn't want to live either.

The engine died two more times, but then the third time the engine managed to stay alive. Shiina listened to its melancholic sound and heard that it was tired. "I'm sorry. I'm tired too," he whispered as he stared at the rpm meter. He gave it some gas and the small arrow in the meter began rising. He released a deep sigh of relief as the engine kept on roaring in the early morning.

"Shut it down now. We have to make some adjustments to the vents and such. Then it'll probably sound better," an engineer shouted, and Shiina shut the engine down.

After he climbed out from the cockpit he didn't want to jump down from on top of the plane. He wanted to just sit in the cockpit all day. But Nicolas gave him the order of getting down, and he obeyed. He didn't have the energy to start an argue. But as he was about to jump down from the wing he lost his balance and fell. Someone caught him and when he opened his eyes he stared at Nicolas. He had fallen into the General's arms.

"Be careful. You're still hurt," the General said with his cold voice, but it wasn't evil this time either.

"T-thank you," Shiina whispered and regained his balance. Then he let go of Nicolas and looked at his plane. He took some unsteady steps toward it and put both of his hands onto the metallic body, and then he rested his cheek against the cold metal and closed his eyes. He stretched out his arms and caressed the planes body with a loving motion. He felt a little safer now when he had his plane in arms reach.

"Sit down in the wheelchair again. We'll go back to sleep," Nicolas said, and this time his voice was cold and evil again.

The days passed and Shiina lived in the General's quarters. The General went to bed with him as soon as he got the chance and Shiina didn't resist. He was confused over the General's behavior. He didn't really understand why he did it with him, but after a few times Shiina began to enjoy it mentally too and soon he was the one who willingly put his arms around Nicolas's neck and hugged him closer as the man mounted him during the nights.

Shiina had an eagle's eye on the process on his plane. Every second of his day when Nicolas didn't occupy him he sat at the window and looked at his plane as it was being repaired. Soon it began looking as its old self and Shiina's mood got better for each day. As a result he and Nicolas had some enjoyable discussions about their childhood at some points and Shiina began understanding Nicolas and his choice to join the enemy army.

But he also wondered if his own fellow soldiers were looking for him, and soon he heard that they were getting closer to Nicolas's camp. He didn't know if he really wanted to escape from Nicolas, but he was scared of the safety of his plane. He had to run. But his leg hadn't healed and he couldn't move the way he needed to.

One night as they were indulging themselves in each other Nicolas asked if Shiina wanted to stay. Shiina looked up at the man who was rocking on top of him with motions that made electricity shoot right through Shiina's body. Shiina moaned and Nicolas stopped his movements to wait for Shiina's answer.

"You'll give away my plane to your leader..." he sighed and wanted Nicolas to move again. He rocked his hips impatiently.

"Is that a no?" Nicolas asked, and Shiina sighed again out of frustration.

"I can't let you take it away from me," Shiina whispered and begged Nicolas to continue moving. "So I don't want to stay. I want to keep my plane."

"I can't change your mind?" Nicolas's voice was getting darker, and Shiina stared at him in confusion.

He slowly shook his head and saw the change in Nicolas's eyes. The man looked like the devil as he took a hold of Shiina's hips and forced his member inside Shiina's body with hard and rough motions.

He's going to hurt me again!, Shiina thought and tears sprung up in his eyes as it began hurting. He knocked his head back and tried to keep himself from screaming, but he always had had difficulties to cope with pain, so he let his voice out.

"I won't let you keep your plane. That's the only thing you're thinking about! So I will take it away from you," the man growled. Shiina didn't understand why Nicolas got angry as soon as they talked about Shiina's plane, but he knew the man really hated the plane.

That night as he lay in bed next to Nicolas he made a promise to himself to escape from the camp with his plane. He would wait until the whole camp was sleeping and then sneak outside and into his plane. Then he would start the plane and hopefully no one would dare to stop him. He knew his plane would hate him for making such a quick start without letting it getting warmed up, and it would probably get damages from the quick start. But he couldn't let the plane be taken away from him.

It was time for his move. He made sure Nicolas was sleeping deep as he decided to sit up and get dressed in his hospital robe. Then he tried to stand on his injured leg, and it hurt. But it wasn't unbearable. He put on his shoes and then sneaked out from the room. He was happy that Nicolas had dropped his guard and didn't have any guards outside the door anymore.

He threw one last glance at Nicolas and whispered that he was sorry for disappearing without saying anything. But he knew he had to go. He couldn’t stay here and see how his beloved plane disappeared right in front of his eyes.

He opened the door carefully and peeked around the corner. No one was there. He sneaked out of the room and closed the door behind him before hurrying down the corridor and to the front door. He opened it just a little to look outside and when the coast was clear he hurried out and ran across the yard to his beloved plane. He stroked the metallic body with a loving motion and begged the plane for forgiveness for doing such a quick start. He removed the safety blocks at the planes landing gear and climbed up to the cockpit and sat down in it and buckled himself up before he closed the hatch and took a deep breath. He closed his eyes and then hit the start button.

A roar echoed across the camp and probably awoke everyone in an instant. The only thing he could hear was the engines angry roar, but then he suddenly heard a small bang and saw a flash in front of the cockpit. It had been a bullet. As he looked over his shoulder he saw Nicolas on the ground holding up his gun against him. Shiina’s pulse began pounding hard as he saw the man’s hateful glare. It was almost as if the man was trying to kill him with that glare.

He changed the gearshift and the plane began moving. He steered the plane against the rocky road right to his left, and then he pushed the power lever and the plane got up speed. The engine was protesting because of the quick start without any warm-up, but the only thing Shiina could do was to hope that the engine didn’t break down.

As the plane got up speed something hurried past him and as he looked closer it was a military jeep. Then he heard Nicolas’s voice in the radio say:

If you want to get past me you have to shoot me down.”

Shiina’s heart jumped in his chest. Shoot him? Could he do that? His heart protested and screamed no. But at the same time Shiina knew that if he didn’t shoot his plane would disappear. His heart was torn.

Can you shoot me?” the voice asked again. Shiina got tears in his eyes and bit his lip hard.

No, he couldn’t do that. He pushed the button for the radio and sighed.

“No.”

Then stop the plane and surrender.”

“I can’t do that either.”

Then what will you do?

Shiina hesitated for a few seconds. Then he answered: “I don’t know.”

You better hurry up and decide because you’ll soon crash into me.”

Damn him!, Shiina cursed and tried to stay calm so that he could think. Then he heard:

If I promise you I won’t hurt you or your plane, will you surrender then?

“How can I trust what you say?!” Shiina shouted. He was so stressed that he was about to break down into hysteria.

You can’t. The only thing you can do is to take a chance.”

Damn him!, he thought again.

But you have to decide now. In a few seconds we’ll crash into each other.”

Shiina’s thoughts were flying around in his head, making everything into an undividable mess. His heart ached. His body shook. He was scared and insecure. But if he didn’t stop the plane he would crash into Nicolas and his jeep in front of him on the road.

I have to trust him. I can’t hurt him, and I can’t hurt my plane. What else can I do?, he asked himself.

He turned the gas level down and the plane slowed down. After a few meters it stopped. It was so quiet after the engine was stopped that it was deafening. Shiina had to cover his hears with his hands. He crawled up into a ball on the seat and cried. He was so scared.

Soon he heard a knock on the cockpit hatch but he didn’t care to look up. He hid his face against the back of the seat and took a deep and shaky breath.

“I’ll open the hatch,” Nicolas said with a friendly tone. For the first time his voice was warm and comfortable.

Maybe I made the right choice?, Shiina thought and looked up at the smiling Nicolas who leaned over the cockpit with the hatch supported in his hand.

“You made the right choice. Come now. Let’s go back to sleep. My men will tow the plane back into camp.”

“You promise you won’t hurt it,” Shiina demanded, and Nicolas nodded.

“I promise. Come now.”

He held out his hand for Shiina to grab, and he did. They climbed down from the plane and Nicolas showed him to the jeep, and then they drove back into camp under a heavy silence. But as the jeep stopped Shiina saw a tank drive past him with the pipe directed at the plane. His heart jumped.

“No! What are they doing?!” he yelled and was about to jump out of the jeep, but Nicolas pulled him back down on the seat and held him in place.

“Just watch.”

“No! You promised! You promised not to hurt it!” Shiina screamed. He panicked and began fighting against Nicolas’s grip, but the man didn’t budge. Shiina was locked in his grip. “NO! PLEASE!”

His scream echoed through the camp and then a loud bang ached in his ears followed by an explosion. His heart burst and as did the tears. He became hysterical and screamed and fought against Nicolas again with no avail. He saw the small pieces of his plane rain down on the road where the plane stood. It was destroyed. Completely gone. The only thing that remained was a skeleton made of metal.

“NO! NO! NO!” he screamed as the shock made his body go weak. He began to calm down because of the heavy shock he got from seeing the remnants of his beloved plane. Nicolas pulled him close into his arms and kissed his temples.

“Finally you’re mine and all mine,” he whispered in Shiina’s ear. “You’re free from the curse now. From now on just look at me.”

Shiina lay slumped in Nicolas’s arms and stared at the small pieces of his plane which still burned with small and tired flames. It felt like he was dying, like his soul had been torn out from his body by force.

“I hate you,” he whispered, and Nicolas chuckled – clearly satisfied.

“I know you do. But it doesn’t matter. You won’t see your plane anymore. Shift that devotion you had for it to me instead. Let me be your everything.”
